Student Kansas Association of Interpreters (SKAI) is a student governed organization for students enrolled in the Interpreter Training Program. Bringing students together in this field of study can be a most valuable and rewarding experience.  Members of SKAI have opportunities to expand their knowledge of the Deaf Community in a way that no classroom atmosphere can provide.

The objectives of SKAI are:
  • To provide opportunities for members to attend local, state, and national workshops, conventions, and conferences.
  • To provide opportunities that encourage students to network with professional interpreters and members of the Deaf community.
  • To build a network and comfortable-like atmosphere between the first and second year students.
  • To provide students opportunities to gain further knowledge about the field of Sign Language Interpretering through club meetings and guest speakers.
  • To provide opportunites for socialization within the Deaf community to gain a better understanding and knowledge of Deaf Culture.
